The Royal Rumble is one of WWE’s most anticipated shows of the year, and the show is less than two weeks away. Fans are expecting to see some surprises, and it was recently reported that WWE is considering the idea of using an unexpected forbidden door entrant in the men’s Royal Rumble match.
Current Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champion Mickie James has been confirmed for the women’s Royal Rumble, and there has been a lot of speculation regarding who WWE could use for a possible forbidden door entrant in the men’s match.
One way or another it seems that a crossover with AEW has been ruled out as Dave Meltzer recently noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that there will be no involvement with All Elite Wrestling at the Royal Rumble. Meltzer also specifically mentioned that former WWE Champion Jon Moxley will not be appearing at the show.
As of this writing WWE has announced 14 entrants for the men’s Royal Rumble match, and 19 entrants for the women’s match, so it will be interesting to see who the company uses at the event in terms of surprise spots. The Royal Rumble will air live on Saturday, January 29th. Stay tuned for updates as they become available.
