Following the physical altercation involving CM Punk, Ace Steel and The Elite at All Out it’s been reported that Punk isn’t expected to return to AEW. The company is reportedly in talks to buy out CM Punk’s contract, and details regarding a potential non-compete clause are said to be holding up the deal.
With CM Punk potentially parting ways with All Elite Wrestling there’s been a lot of talk about whether or not he could return to WWE at some point in the future.
WrestleVotes recently spoke to GiveMeSport about a potential return, and it was noted that Triple H wanted nothing to do with CM Punk back in July. However, The Game’s stance on a potential CM Punk return has reportedly softened recently.
“I was told, I mean, pretty straightforward, that Triple H wants nothing to do with CM Punk, and even less to do with Phil Brooks. Well, that’s what I was told and that was July.
I did ask over the last couple of days, and it has softened a little bit from what I understand. I still think there’s animosity, I still think there’s a lot of pieces that need to be picked up between the two of them specifically. But Hunter, learned from Vince [McMahon] and Vince made amends with everybody.
So to say that doors closed is ridiculous on anybody’s part, especially in this ‘war’ that’s happening right now… I would say never say never. Absolutely.”
