The Rock made his grand return to WWE earlier this month when he appeared on Day 1 Raw and teased a match with Roman Reigns. Since then the wrestling world has been wondering if the match could take place at WrestleMania 40 in April.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that The Rock has yet to sign a deal to wrestle for WWE, but it was noted that the key word is “yet.” It’s being said that The Rock is willing and wants to do a match with Roman Reigns. He’s also said to be strong on the idea of doing the match at WrestleMania, but the match was not locked in as of last week.
There is an idea of seeing how much Saudi Arabia would pay for the match because of the amount of money they’ve paid for boxing matches. However, one person noted that The Rock is “headstrong” about the match with Roman Reigns taking place at WrestleMania.
In 2023 there was an idea for The Rock to be a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble then win to set up a match with Roman Reigns. Obviously those plans never came to fruition as the match didn’t take place last year. There’s currently no word on whether or not The Rock could be appearing in the 30 man Royal Rumble match this weekend.
