There was a lot of anticipation heading into Monday Night Raw this week as it was announced ahead of time that Seth Rollins would be defending the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Jinder Mahal. Ultimately Seth Rollins retained the title, but he suffered an injury during the match.
Fightful Select is reporting that Seth Rollins told people backstage that he didn’t think he suffered an ACL tear. One source also noted that Rollins would likely know what that feels like.
According to the report the word from WWE and sources is that Seth Rollins suffered a torn MCL and a partially torn meniscus. At this point in time it’s not known if Seth Rollins will require surgery, but the hope is that he can avoid it.
It’s not clear if WWE will downplay the injury or embellish it on television. It was noted that several people in WWE put over Seth Rollins for being tough throughout the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match, and for how he handled the aftermath.
Stay tuned for more updates on Seth Rollins’ status as they become available.
