You never know who might return to WWE nowadays as a number of former stars have returned to the company since last year. It looks like another former star has been claiming a return was in the cards at one point, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that Alberto Del Rio is claiming he was heading back to WWE last year, but plans for his return were derailed when Vince McMahon lost power. It was noted that Del Rio has made this claim before and it probably shouldn’t be believed.
Fightful Select also followed up on Alberto Del Rio’s claim and reached out to a WWE higher up to get more details. The higher up reportedly said “No f****ng chance” while talking about a return for Del Rio.
Alberto Del Rio wrestled earlier this month on 10/5 in Aguascalientes. The former champion reportedly said that it was his last match of the year due to a knee injury.
