It looks like there could be some serious rumblings of bringing Rey Mysterio back into the WWE Universe and recent reports have been quite positive about that subject.
The latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter also said that there are currently talks between Rey Mysterio and WWE and there is a plan for him to meet with Triple H shortly. It was also said that the recent injury Mysterio sustained at an indie show hasn’t slowed down talks at all.
But some fans were still concerned Mysterio’s injury might have been serious enough for him to have to cancel some upcoming plans he has for New Japan as he faces Jushin “Thunder” Liger at the Strong Style Evolved show in Long Beach among other dates Mysterio has on his calendar.
Now there is very good news in that department because the Wrestling Observer is reporting Mysterio’s injury is only a grade 1 partially torn bicep.
According to the LiveStrong website, a grade 1 partially torn bicep is: “A grade 1 strain is a minor overstretching or pulling of the biceps muscle or tendon. Such a strain involves no tearing of muscle or tendon fibers and results in no loss of strength.” With a definition like that it certainly sounds like Mysterio could still work in the ring.
He might want to take it easy in the meantime but at this point, we haven’t heard of Mysterio canceling any dates except for the one he was mysteriously pulled from during WrestleMania Weekend which is interesting for a completely different reason.
Therefore it looks like the hopes of seeing Rey Mysterio back in WWE might be brighter than ever at this point. But of course, we won’t know anything until the two sides get together and we hear some kind of confirmed news on the matter. But at least Rey Mysterio isn’t going to have an injury get in the way of a possible WWE return.
