The Royal Rumble has come and gone, but the show gave fans plenty to talk about. Liv Morgan won the women’s Royal Rumble, Roman Reigns won the men’s Royal Rumble and AJ Styles put his career on the line when he stepped into the ring with Gunther.
Unfortunately for AJ Styles his match with Gunther seemingly turned out to be his last as Gunther managed to pick up the victory when he locked in the sleeper hold and The Phenomenal One passed out. After the match AJ Styles teased leaving his gloves in the ring as he took them off. However, he ultimately put them back on and shared one last moment with the fans before leaving.
It’s not clear when we’ll be seeing AJ Styles again, but PWInsider is reporting that Styles and Tiffany Stratton are expected to be at WWE headquarters this week. There’s speculation that they may be recording podcasts for the company, but that hasn’t been confirmed.
Styles has received a lot of support from the wrestling community over the last few days, but he has yet to break his silence and comment on his retirement. If AJ is indeed recording some type of podcast at WWE HQ then hopefully that means we’ll be hearing from him sooner rather than later.
