The AEW All in pay-per-view aired live from Wembley Stadium on Sunday and the show gave fans plenty to talk about. Former IWGP Women’s Champion Mercedes Mone also made an appearance on camera when she was shown sitting in the crowd watching the show. During the post-show press conference Tony Khan talked a little bit about Mercedes attending All In while teasing that they could potentially work together in the future.
“I thought it would be great to have her here to see all the matches including the AEW Women’s World Championship [match,] but she’s not cleared [to wrestle] since her injuries. I just thought it would be good to have her to take in the show. [There’s] definitely a lot of potential things [that] could happen there, and I know that New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s had great experiences working with her.”
PWInsider is reporting that Mercedes Mone was wearing a heavy walking boot while she was backstage at All In and when she appeared on camera she was specifically shot sitting down in the crowd to not show that.
The expectation is that Mercedes Mone will be coming in for more appearances when she’s cleared. It was also noted that Mercedes likely would have made her AEW debut at Blood and Guts in her hometown of Boston had she not suffered an injury prior to that.
