Jeff Hardy was released from WWE back in December, and fans have been waiting to see where he might end up next. It’s been rumored that the Charismatic Enigma is AEW bound, and now Fightful Select is reporting that Hardy will be joining All Elite Wrestling soon.
It’s being reported that Jeff Hardy is set to be at the AEW Dynamite tapings on Wednesday, but it’s not clear if he will be appearing on the show. The working plan has been for Jeff to come into AEW fairly quickly, and AEW was reportedly assured that there were no substance related issues that led to Hardy’s WWE departure.
Fightful’s sources also back up claims from the Hardys that Jeff passed both a breathalyzer and a drug test. It was noted that the drug test a drug test, “wasn’t conducted on the spot.” WWE offered to send Jeff Hardy to rehab before the drug test results came in, and Hardy declined so he was released.
Multiple WWE Superstars that spoke with Fightful reportedly insisted Jeff just had an “off night” and wasn’t on any substance during his last match with the company. One source also noted that WWE, “jumped the gun on Jeff Hardy’s release.”
Matt Hardy leaving Private Party is meant to lead to an eventual storyline, and it’s expected that something will happen at Revolution to push the storyline further. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
