You never know who’s going to return when you watch WWE programming and this week a number of familiar faces appeared on Monday Night Raw. Nic Nemeth returned as Dolph Ziggler to face off against Solo Sikoa in The Last Time Is Now Tournament, and Ziggler’s return got a big reaction from the fans at Madison Square Garden.

Fightful Select is reporting that WWE sources have indicated Dolph Ziggler has not signed a contract with WWE. He is still considered to be a part of TNA Wrestling and has worked with the company on a series of short term contracts. Sources at TNA Wrestling noted that Nic Nemeth has preferred to sign short term deals after spending many years locked down with WWE.

Dolph Ziggler isn’t the only former WWE star who recently returned as Matt Cardona also returned as Zack Ryder when he entered The Last Time Is Now Tournament last week on SmackDown. Following his return on SmackDown it was reported that Matt Cardona has not signed with WWE, and his appearance was just a one off.

WWE officials were said to have been happy with Dolph Ziggler’s performance in his match on Raw this week.
