Major Update On Cody Rhodes’ Status With WWE

It’s been an interesting few weeks for AEW as Cody Rhodes recently announced that he was leaving the company, and Tony Khan announced on Dynamite this week that he purchased ROH.

Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net is reporting that sources have confirmed Cody and Brandi Rhodes parting ways with AEW was “very much real life, and was not a work.”

As soon as Cody announced that he was done with AEW rumors of a possible WWE return immediately started making the rounds, but it looks like it may not happen. It’s being said that discussions between Cody and WWE had been ongoing but “those conversations have since fizzled out.”

One source indicated that there is hope Cody Rhodes can be brought back into the fold with AEW. The idea was floated that there may be a possibility of Cody being brought back with a new role involving ROH.
