CM Punk won the AEW World Championship for the second time in his career on Sunday night when he defeated Jon Moxley at the All Out pay-per-view. Unfortunately for CM Punk it appears that he suffered an injury in the process.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer is reporting that Punk’s injury is serious and will require surgery. It’s believed that Punk suffered the injury while doing a tope onto Jon Moxley during the All Out main event.
It’s also being said that regardless of what happens with CM Punk discipline-wise that the situation with the AEW World Championship will be changed and addressed tonight.
Punk injury, believed to be from the tope, is serious. Rumors from Sunday but he hadn't confirmed them but it's been confirmed to me no matter what happens discipline-wise that the title situation has to be changed and addressed tonight.

CM Punk is said to be in Chicago not in Buffalo where AEW Dynamite is set to take place from tonight. CM Punk and Tony Khan met on Tuesday and it’s being reported that Punk and Ace Steel were scheduled for a 4 PM Zoom meeting today with AEW personnel.
If CM Punk is not fired AEW will still need to crown a new champion as Punk needs surgery and is expected to be out for some time. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
