Last month Tony Khan officially announced that CM Punk’s AEW contract had been terminated, and since then there’s been a lot of talk about where CM Punk could end up next.
The door is said to be open for CM Punk to join Impact Wrestling, and it was recently reported that the former AEW World Champion was backstage at the Impact TV tapings on Sunday.
Fightful Select reports that a few weeks ago people close to Punk claimed that they didn’t think he would want to join Impact Wrestling. However, it was said that if he woke up one day and decided he wanted to wrestle names like Josh Alexander or the Motor City Machine Guns he likely could. Another person close to CM Punk said that he would wrestle in Impact under the right circumstances.
A big hurdle regarding CM Punk joining the company would be the salary as he was reportedly making somewhere between 15 to 20 times what a lot of top Impact stars were making.
