Over the last few years fans have seen a number of former WWE stars join All Elite Wrestling and William Regal debuted with the company months ago. However, recently there’s been talk that Regal is already done with AEW, and that he’s WWE bound.
PWInsider is now reporting that William Regal is currently finalizing a new deal with WWE and he’s expected to return to the company in after the new year. The plan is for Regal to take on a backstage role.
After debuting in March, William Regal was featured consistently on TV in the months that followed as a key figured in the Blackpool Combat Club. There was speculation that William Regal was also set to play a big role in the AEW World Title picture as it was originally rumored that Regal and MJF would be a heel duo on screen, but that’s not the case.
On the most recent episode of Dynamite, MJF turned on William Regal which was apparently AEW’s way of writing him off TV. Stay tuned for updates.
