This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw aired live from the Rocket Arena in Cleveland, OH and the show built up Elimination Chamber in a big way.
During the show Michael Cole got in the ring and started to prepare for an interview with CM Punk, but Finn Balor came out of nowhere and took the microphone out of his hands. Balor told everyone that he’s sick of being an afterthought, he wants a title shot at Elimination Chamber so he can beat CM Punk on his turf.
Adam Pearce interrupted and said that Balor had his shot, and the time has passed. Pearce threatened to have security remove Finn Balor from the arena as CM Punk made his entrance. Pearce tried to stop Punk from getting in the ring but he did it anyway. Balor rolled out then stood on the announce table while Pearce told Punk to relax.
Punk challenged Balor to step into the ring, but Balor said he’s not fighting Punk for no reason as he continued to push for a title match. CM Punk took the belt off the suggested they face off on Raw in Cleveland before telling Balor he’s on for Elimination Chamber. Pearce objected as he insisted he won’t be putting the WrestleMania main event in jeopardy.
The champion continued and said that if Pearce doesn’t make it official he’s going to spend the rest of the show chasing after Balor. Pearce reluctantly agreed then made the match official.
