This week Monday Night Raw celebrated the one year anniversary of the red brand’s arrival on Netflix and the show kicked off in a big way. Rhea Ripley & Iyo Sky made their way out for the first match of the night as they challenged Asuka & Kairi Sane for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.
The rivalry between the two teams has been heated for some time now and they both pushed each other to their respective limits in an action packed title match.
At one point it looked like Rhea & Iyo had it won as Rhea hit a Riptide on Kairi Sane, and Iyo went to the top for a moonsault. However, Asuka showed up out of nowhere and pushed Rhea into the corner and she knocked Iyo Sky off the top rope to the outside by accident. Kairi then connected with a Codebreaker on Rhea for a two count.
Near the end of the match Rhea hit the Riptide on Asuka then Iyo connected with the Over The Moonsault from the top rope. Iyo did a dive to the outside to take out Kairi Sane as Rhea Ripley pinned Asuka to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.
After the match Rhea Ripley & Iyo Sky celebrated with the belts as pyro went off in the background.
