This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite was the special 200th episode and the show aired live from Tampa, FL. The show featured a big title match in the main event as Toni Storm defended the AEW Women’s Championship against Hikaru Shida. Both women fought hard, but in the end it was Shida who walked out with the gold.
Near the end of the match Saraya threw a kendo stick into the ring and Hikaru Shida and Toni Storm both grabbed it. Tony Storm got down on her knees and begged Shida to hit her, but Shida instead hit Ruby Soho off the apron then put the kendo stick down. As the referee was getting the kendo stick out of the ring Toni Storm sprayed green spray pain in Shida’s eyes then hit Storm Zero and went for the pin, but Shida kicked out.
Toni Storm then rolled Hikaru Shida up which led to Shida reversing it to score the pin and win the match. After the match Hikaru Shida celebrated in the ring with the AEW Women’s Championship as confetti rained down on her.
