A few months ago AEW were pulled from TV at their own request, but they made their big return to AEW at the Revolution pay-per-view and they immediately made it clear that they wanted a shot at the AEW World Tag Team Titles. The Gunns initially refused their request, but FTR offered to put their AEW career on the line, so The Gunns agreed to a title match.
There was a lot of speculation heading into the match as Dax Harwood has been saying for months now that FTR’s AEW contracts were set to expire in April. He also recently stated on Twitter that the team made a decision regarding their next move in professional wrestling.
At one point it looked like FTR had it won after they hit Shatter Machine on Austin Gunn, but Colten pulled the referee out of the ring before he could finish the three count.
Austin Gunn hit Dax Harwood with a low blow, and Cash Wheeler stopped the referee from calling for the bell and ending the match in a DQ. Colten Gunn then slid in a tag team title belt and Austin hit Dax in the head with it as Dax jumped off the top rope. However, Dax kicked out at two to keep the match going.
Dax Harwood spit in the faces of Austin & Golten Gunn then The Gunns tried to lift him up but he fought back. Harwood and Cash Wheeler ended up rolling up both of The Gunns at the same time to win the match and the AEW World Tag Team Titles.
