They say that anything can happen in professional wrestling and this week on AEW Dynamite Wardlow defended the TNT Championship against Powerhouse Hobbs in a Falls Count Anywhere match. Powerhouse Hobbs won the Face of the Revolution ladder match last week on Dynamite, and over the weekend Wardlow defeated Samoa Joe to win the TNT Championship.
Ahead of Dynamite, Wardlow posted a video on social media noting that his car had been broken into and his gear was stolen along with the TNT Championship. A Falls Count Anywhere match was then announced and it started in the parking lot.
Wardlow and Powerhouse Hobbs battled all throughout the arena, but toward the end of the match they ended up fighting at the top of the stage near the announce table. That’s when QT Marshall appeared out of nowhere and beat Wardlow down with a steel chair.
Powerhouse Hobbs and QT Marshall then capitalized on the moment and then picked Wardlow up to hit him with a double powerbomb off the stage. The referee then counted to ten and when Wardlow failed to answer the ten count a new champion was crowned. Dynamite ended with QT Marshall and Powerhouse Hobbs celebrating with the TNT Championship.
