The NXT Deadline premium live event emanated from San Antonio, TX on Saturday night and the show kicked off in a big way. Oba Femi challenged Ricky Saints for the NXT Championship in the opening match and it was Femi who picked up the win to become a two time NXT Champion.
Near the end of the match Oba Femi connected with the Fall From Grace, but Saints managed to kick out. Saints charged at Oba who connected with the Fall From Grace a second time to put Ricky away.
After the match Ricky Saints showed respect to Oba Femi and offered up a handshake. Femi accepted as Saints exited the ring shortly after they shook hands.
It was announced on the most recent episode of Friday Night SmackDown that the winner of Oba Femi vs. Ricky Saints would go on to face Cody Rhodes at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Now it seems that The American Nightmare vs. The Ruler is set for December 13th.
Stay tuned for updates.
