MJF is the current AEW World Champion, but recently he’s been competing in the tag team division. Maxwell Jacob Friedman has been paired up with Adam Cole in the blind tag team tournament and the pairing has been quite entertaining so far. However, it doesn’t sound like Cole and MJF are going to be on the same page forever.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that the current plan is for MJF and Adam Cole to face off with the AEW World Championship on the line, so they won’t both be filling the cool babyface role moving forward.
At this point it’s not clear when the AEW World Championship match between Cole and MJF will take place, but WWE has two huge events coming up with All In at Wembley Stadium and All Out at the United Center.
So far AEW has not announced any matches for All In or All Out, but it certainly wouldn’t be surprising to see MJF vs. Adam Cole added to one of the cards. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
