The last few weeks have been huge for the world of professional wrestling and it was revealed during Dynamite on Wednesday that Tony Khan will be making a big announcement next week.
Fightful Select reports that while it wasn’t confirmed it was implied that Tony Khan’s announcement is related to the impending debut of Mercedes Mone. However, it was noted that it has not been confirmed her signing will be outright mentioned as part of the announcement.
Numerous talent have reportedly been told from people within the company and people close to Mercedes that the current working plan is for her to physically appear with AEW in March likely after the Revolution pay-per-view takes place. There’s no word on when Mercedes could make her in-ring debut for the company.
It was also noted that there were never any plans to announce her arrival during Collision over the weekend. Over the weekend Sean Ross Sapp was told by numerous WWE sources that by late December the company knew they were out when it came to landing Mercedes and that she would have been unable to perform at the Royal Rumble premium live event.
The impression from WWE sources and AEW talent is that Mercedes Mone has been signed with AEW for weeks. Stay tuned for updates.
