The annual WWE Survivor Series premium live event emanated from Petco Park in San Diego on Saturday night and the show featured some big moments. CM Punk, Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes and The Usos teamed up to face Brock Lesnar, Logan Paul, Drew McIntyre, Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed in a WarGames match, and it was Bron Breakker who pinned CM Punk to pick up the win for his team.
Near the end of the match a mysterious masked man climbed into the cage then delivered a superkick and a stomp to CM Punk which allowed Breakker to follow up with a spear on Punk to secure the victory.
Following the show there’s obviously been a lot of speculation regarding the mystery man’s identity, and Fightful Select reports that the man under the mask was Austin Theory.
It’s been months since Austin Theory has appeared on WWE programming as he’s been sidelined due to injury. The Wrestling Observer is reporting that Theory was originally planned to be part of the WarGames team alongside Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed and Seth Rollins prior to Rollins suffering an injury.
The masked man angle was a very hot topic during the Survivor Series post-show as Paul Heyman was repeatedly asked about the man’s identity, but he refused to reveal any details.
