SmackDown Live has been an interesting show over the past few weeks as Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens are being positioned as top heels on the blue brand. Their feud with Shane McMahon has been the focal point of the show for several weeks now, and it seems like some interesting twists and turns could be coming.
Shane McMahon announced last week that Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn will face Shinsuke Nakamura and Randy Orton at Clash of Champions, and if they lose the match they will be fired.
There’s been tension between Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan recently, and it didn’t seem like Bryan was on board with Shane adding such a huge stipulation to the match.
It’s rumored that his abuse of power could be leading to a major heel turn for Shane McMahon, and even though it’s highly unlikely that it will lead to a match with Daniel Bryan, the SmackDown General Manager could still play a big part in the storyline.
CageSideSeats notes that the turn could be leading to a Daniel Bryan vs. Shane McMahon feud, with someone stepping in to fight for Bryan if he is not cleared by WWE.
As noted, Daniel Bryan has not been cleared by WWE’s doctors, so unless his status changes sometime in the next few months it looks like someone will be fighting on behalf of Bryan if this is the direction WWE decides to go.
