When Kurt Angle’s name was announced as an inductee for this year’s WWE Hall of Fame people were both excited and confused. Fans had hoped they could see another in-ring run with Angle since his Impact Wrestling days are over and he is currently one of the biggest free agents working the independent circuits. Therefore, a Hall of Fame appointment seemed to be a step in the wrong direction.
Kurt Angle deserves to be in the WWE Hall of Fame, but fans would have much rather seen him tangle with names like Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, and Samoa Joe before he is enshrined in Vince’s Castle of Kayfabe.
PWInsider is reporting Kurt Angle is expected to return to WWE television on the Raw after WrestleMania 33. There are several people who suspect Angle will be given the role of Raw General Manager since they’re already teasing Mick Foley’s exit from the position. Foley is due for a hip surgery and this timeline would fit perfectly for all parties involved.
What matters most is Kurt Angle will once again be a part of the WWE Universe. If he can get medical clearance to wrestle, then it is highly likely he will do so but be a part of slower building stories with only big money pay-per-view blow off matches.
The days of using Kurt Angle as a workhorse are gone, but he is still a valuable asset to the company.
No matter how they use The Olympic Hero, it is highly likely he will excel in any position WWE puts him in. As long as he’s on our televisions we’ll be happy. It’s true, it’s damn true.
