It’s been a big year for John Cena as he kicked off his retirement tour back in January. Since then John has faced off against some of the biggest names on the WWE roster and over the weekend he clashed with Brock Lesnar in the opening match at WrestlePalooza.
Unfortunately for John Cena the match was very one sided as Brock Lesnar destroyed the former WWE Champion. With Brock Lesnar going over Cena in a decisive fashion there’s been some speculation among fans that WWE could be building to a rematch, but that doesn’t appear to be the case.
Bryan Alvarez shared an update on creative plans for Cena on Wrestling Observer Live and noted that as of right now there are no plans for another Brock vs. Cena match. It was also noted that Brock will not be Cena’s final opponent.
“As of this weekend, I am told that this is it. There isn’t gonna be another Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena match. That was their last match. And Brock is not his final opponent.”
Now that WrestlePalooza has come and gone John Cena only has 5 appearances left on his schedule before he officially retires from WWE. His final match is expected to take place at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13th, but there’s currently no word on who his final opponent might be.
Stay tuned for updates.
