WWE Clash in Paris has come and gone and now all eyes are looking ahead to Wrestlepalooza. The show will be WWE’s first premium live event on ESPN and it will also be going head to head with the AEW All Out pay-per-view.
Over the weekend at Clash in Paris, Becky Lynch interfered in the main event when she hit CM Punk with a low blow. The next night on Raw, Lynch attacked CM Punk during a promo segment, and Punk told Lynch that she will regret putting her hands on him. Punk also indicated that something will be happening at SmackDown in Chicago on Friday which immediately led to speculation among fans about a potential AJ Lee return.
During a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez addressed AJ Lee’s status and he confirmed that WWE is currently planning for CM Punk and AJ Lee to face Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch at Wrestlepalooza.
“We can confirm that it’s a Mixed Tag, CM Punk & AJ Lee against Becky Lynch & Seth Rollins. The return of AJ, Brock and Usos teaming up. They’re loading this show up to try to destroy All Out, we’ll see if they can do it.”
AJ Lee has been retired since 2015 as she last stepped into the ring when she competed in a six woman tag team match on the Raw after WrestleMania 31.
