WWE has been going through some big changes over the last few months, and now PWInsider is reporting that several sources confirmed John Laurinaitis has been quietly let go from WWE. The termination reportedly happened over the last week or so and was being kept quiet for obvious reasons.
Laurinaitis joined WWE in 2001 after the acquisition of WCW and he became Director of Talent Relations. Eventually he worked his way up to being appointed Executive Vice President of Talent Relations in 2009.
Laurinaitis became an on screen character in 2011 and he went on to feud with top names such as CM Punk and John Cena. He was demoted to working as a Head Producer in WWE in 2012. Laurinaitis also regularly appeared on the Total Bellas reality series.
In March of 2021 Laurinaitis was re-hired as Head of Talent Relations, but he was removed from the position back in June after the Wall Street Journal broke news of the WWE Board of Directors investigating non-disclosure agreements tied to John Laurinaitis and Vince McMahon.
It’s been expected that WWE would be cutting ties with Laurinaitis and now it seems to be official.
