You never know when you might see a big name return to WWE as CM Punk recently shocked the world when he returned at Survivor Series. Mercedes Mone has been seemingly teasing a WWE return on social media, but it doesn’t sound like it’s in the cards right now.
Fightful Select is now reporting that WWE sources claim talks between Mercedes Mone and the company fell through. WWE and Mercedes Mone had been in talks about her possibly returning to the company, but they are no longer in active conversations.
It’s being said that the dialogue was friendly. However, the talks back and forth failed to progress, so WWE’s side walked. Another source in WWE noted that they believe Mercedes Mone will end up appearing elsewhere imminently. It’s not known where Mercedes might show up, but AEW, NJPW and TNA all have big pay-per-views airing over the next few weeks.
At one point there were working plans for Mercedes Mone to work with AEW. It’s being reported that as of early December those working plans were no longer happening. NJPW hoped to engage in talks with Mercedes in recent months, and it’s being said that all options are back on the table for the former SmackDown Women’s Champion.
