This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw featured a huge main event as Gunther defended his Intercontinental Championship against Jey Uso. Ultimately Gunther retained after Jimmy Uso distracted Jey.
Jimmy Uso then proceeded to attack Jey and Cody Rhodes made the save after Raw went off the air. The American Nightmare then introduced CM Punk who made a surprise appearance and cut a promo for the fans in Anaheim.
“It is not easy sitting backstage, watching the show, knowing that Anaheim showed up 11,000-strong, and y’all have been hot all night long! I had to come out here and feel this myself. And to let you all know, this is a bump in the road. And I promise you that next time we are in Anaheim, I will be here and I will have my boots on!”
PWInsider is also reporting that Cody Rhodes, CM Punk and Jey Uso signed a turnbuckle pad, and Jey Uso also took off his shoes and signed them. Punk commented that he didn’t bring anything, but offered up $100 and all of the items were given to fans in the crowd.
CM Punk is currently out of action due to injury, and he recently stated during an interview that he’s looking at a 6 to 8 month timeline in regard to his recovery.
