Now that Day 1 Raw has come and gone all eyes are looking ahead to SmackDown New Year’s Revolution on Friday. SmackDown New Year’s Revolution is shaping up to be a big show as Randy Orton, AJ Styles and LA Knight are all set to compete in a triple threat match to determine who will challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at the Royal Rumble.

Ahead of SmackDown New Year’s Revolution on Friday, WWE has confirmed that Roman Reigns will be appearing on the show. The company announced Roman’s appearance earlier today with the following preview for SmackDown:

“As Randy Orton, AJ Styles and LA Knight prepare to battle in a Triple Threat Match to determine Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns’ challenger at Royal Rumble, The Head of the Table returns to the blue brand.

With Royal Rumble on the horizon, who will become the No. 1 Contender to The Head of The Bloodline on The Road to WrestleMania?

Don’t miss Reigns’ SmackDown return at New Year’s Revolution, this Friday at 8/7 C on FOX!”

This week on Monday Night Raw, The Rock returned to WWE and seemingly teased a match with Roman Reigns when he asked fans if he should sit at the head of the table. Reigns responded by posting a laughing face emoji on X, but it will be interesting to see what he has to say about The Rock when he returns to SmackDown on Friday.
