We’re only a few weeks away from WWE Raw’s debut episode on Netflix, and another big match has been confirmed for the show as Adam Pearce officially announced that CM Punk will face Seth Rollins on January 6, 2025.
CM Punk kicked off Raw this week, and the fans loudly chanted his name before he could speak. He joked that they shouldn’t chant too loud, or someone might get mad.
Punk told the fans that he’s in a bit of a bad mood because he told Seth Rollins that he doesn’t think about him at all, but Seth is right, and it’s only a matter of time before they lock up in the ring. He said that he knows every time he cuts a promo from now on that Seth Rollins is going to interrupt him. The Second City Saint told Seth that just because he grew up idolizing him that doesn’t make him CM Punk every time he puts on a pair of wrestling boots.
The former WWE Champion called Seth his “little brother” then agreed they’re on a collision course. Punk said he’s the bad guy, and Seth Rollins is “CM Punk’s failure.” He offered to give Seth the wrestling lesson he asked for years ago, for free.
CM Punk questioned if Seth is tougher than Drew McIntyre then said that there’s not enough staples in the world to put Seth back together when he’s done with him. Seth still didn’t come out. Punk got the fans to chant his name and finally Seth started chanting along.
The camera cut to Seth Rollins who was walking down the stairs through the crowd as he encouraged the fans to chant for Punk. CM Punk said Rollins is in the right spot because he belongs in the audience with all the CM Punk fans. Rollins said he’s not embarrassed to be with the people, because when CM Punk abandoned WWE, he put the company on his back, and he has more WrestleMania main events than CM Punk ever will.
Rollins walked down the stairs as Punk jumped into the crowd and they brawled. WWE officials came out to break them up. Punk and Rollins were separated and a group of WWE officials tried to pull CM Punk away through the crowd. Rollins hopped the barricade and started the brawl all over again.
Later Seth Rollins was shown throwing things around backstage and he told Adam Pearce to do his job and book a match. Pearce walked away and Drew McIntyre confronted Rollins.
Drew McIntyre talked about The Bloodline and how Roman Reigns is trying to regain his power. Seth said that he took Roman out power, and Jey and Sami helped him, so they’re his friends. He said he respects them, but the jury’s out with Drew.
Adam Pearce later confirmed that CM Punk will face Seth Rollins during the Monday Night Raw debut episode on Netflix. It was also confirmed that Triple H, CM Punk and Seth Rollins will be at WWE HQ at Stamford for the Raw on Netflix Kickoff on Wednesday.
Stay tuned for updates.
