Fans have seen some iconic gimmicks throughout the years and The Undertaker spent decades bringing his Deadman gimmick to WWE programming. The former WWE Champion returned to TV for the Raw 30th anniversary episode back in January and fans were surprised to see him bring back his American Badass gimmick and come out on a motorcycle.
The Undertaker recently spoke to Ariel Helwani about his appearance on the Raw 30th anniversary show and he indicated that we won’t be seeing The Deadman again because the curtain has been lifted.
“They had a different vision. They didn’t even know that I wasn’t going to have the hat and coat. They totally thought I was coming [out as] old Undertaker. I was like, no. That’s part of me and the storytelling, right? When I lifted the curtain, and when I lifted it back and pulled it back, that’s gone. It’s gone now.”
When asked if he was done with the traditional Undertaker look he said, “I won’t bring the hat and coat back out, no.”
The Undertaker also noted that he doesn’t feel The Undertaker can be portrayed in the way that it used to be now that he’s a public speaker, so it appears that we’ve seen the last of The Deadman.
