It’s the month of May which means the annual Double or Nothing pay-per-view is coming up, and recently it was determined that MJF would defend the AEW World Championship against Sammy Guevara at the big event. MJF formed an alliance with Sammy Guevara in recent weeks, but that alliance fell apart on Dynamite.
MJF & Sammy Guevara teamed up to face Jungle Boy & Darby Allin in the main event with the stipulation being that Jungle Boy & Darby Allin would be added to the AEW World Championship match at Double or Nothing if their team won.
During the match MJF and Sammy Guevara argued as they both tried to get the pin for their team. MJF snapped on Sammy and slapped him in the face. Their alliance broke down while the AEW World Champion screamed at Sammy Guevara as he told him, “you’re supposed to do what I say!”
Sammy Guevara hit MJF with a superkick then Jungle Boy capitalized on the distraction and took Guevara down. Darby Allin tagged himself in then hit the Coffin Drop on Sammy Guevara for the win. After the match MJF looked shocked as he made his way up the ramp while all of the other competitors looked on from the ring.
MJF will now defend his AEW World Championship in a fatal four way match against Darby Allin, Sammy Guevara and Jungle Boy at Double or Nothing on Sunday, May 28. Stay tuned for updates.
