Last week on SmackDown Live, Baron Corbin unsuccessfully cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase. Few people expected him to cash-in only a few days before Summerslam, but the real story is what happened backstage at SmackDown Live last week before the PPV event.

It was revealed last week after his unsuccessful cash-in that Corbin had some heat with WWE officials as a result of his social media activity. It’s been reported by Sportskeeda that Baron Corbin was chewed out by John Cena during the SmackDown Live tapings for his attitude.
The specifics regarding what Cena said to Corbin is unclear, but the context of the comments had to do with Baron’s bad attitude and his perception of his position in the company being a problem. It was also noted that you can see Cena make some comments to Corbin during their match on Sunday at the 9 minute mark.
Unfortunately, Baron Corbin’s attitude may have cost him his main event push. However, his size, look, and everything else he brings to the table on WWE television is only a part of what makes a main event talent. For the foreseeable future, it seems he has a lot of work to do.
