They say that anything can happen when you watch AEW Dynamite, and over recent weeks it’s been teased that there’s major tension between Chris Jericho and Santana & Ortiz.
AEW advertised an Inner Circle team meeting for Dynamite this week, and Jericho made his way to the ring with TNT Champion Sammy Guevara and Jake Hager. Jericho then called out Santana & Ortiz, and they came out on their own. They got on the mic and said that Chris Jericho only cares about Chris Jericho.
Santana then said that the days of playing second fiddle to Chris Jericho are over, because Jericho is the one that’s been standing in their way, but the fans kept them going. He continued by saying that Jericho should thank Ortiz because if it wasn’t for him Santana would have dropped Jericho’s ass a long time ago.
Chris Jericho pointed out that Santana & Ortiz had a shot at the AEW Tag Team Titles when they faced The Young Bucks a year ago, but they lost. Jericho said maybe he invited the wrong two members of LAX to join. He asked Jake Hager if he had the numbers of Homicide and Hernandez, but Santana choked him.
Sammy Guevara begged them to stop and Jericho said “shut up Sammy!” Jericho tried to apologize, but Sammy put his hands in Jericho’s face and said “save it!” Sammy said he loves the Inner Circle, but he’s quit before, and unless they can figure it out he’s gone.
Ortiz said Eddie Kingston is one of their brothers in arms. He said that where they come from they don’t settle their issues by talking. Ortiz challenged Hager and Jericho to a match next week. Jericho said he didn’t want it to come down to this and he accepted the challenge.
