Rusev was recently written off TV after he lost a match to the Big Show at WWE Fastlane, and unfortunately it doesn’t look like we’ll be seeing him appear on WWE programming in the near future.
It was recently confirmed that Rusev had shoulder surgery last week, and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that the former United States Champion is expected to be out of action for at least two months.
The timing of the shoulder surgery couldn’t be any worse because WrestleMania 33 is only a few short weeks away. It’s being reported that Rusev has needed shoulder surgery for some time now, and the surgery just couldn’t be put off any longer.
With Rusev off TV, Lana has been working on her in-ring skills, as she’s been training at the WWE Performance Center. She recently returned to the ring at a NXT live event.
The 2017 WWE Hall of Fame class currently consists of Kurt Angle, Diamond Dallas Page, Teddy Long, Rick Rude, Beth Phoenix and The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express. So far the only inductor that’s been confirmed for the event is Ricky Steamboat, and he will be inducting Rick Rude.
There’s talk that Jim Cornette might be the one to induct The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express on March 31st, which may come as a surprise to some, but the feeling is that Cornette wouldn’t turn down the chance to induct the team. Cornette’s possible appearance has neither been confirmed or denied by WWE and Cornette himself.
