WrestleMania season is right around the corner and next year’s show is set for Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Typically Backlash is the premium live event that follows WrestleMania, and it looks like WWE has settled on a location for the show in 2026.
POST Wrestling is reporting that WWE sources have confirmed the company will be returning to Puerto Rico for a premium live event in 2026. Multiple sources confirmed that the event will be WWE Backlash and it will emanate from San Juan, Puerto Rico.
An exact date has not been confirmed at this point in time, but a source with access to WWE’s internal calendar indicated that the show is listed for May 9th.
Back in 2023, WWE held the Backlash premium live event in Puerto Rico and the show featured some big matches such as Bad Bunny vs. Damian Priest and Cody Rhodes vs. Brock Lesnar. In addition to selling over 14,000 tickets, WWE Backlash grossed a $1,048,295 dollar gate, and the company also received a $1.5 million subsidy, and an additional $300,000 in-kind contribution from the Puerto Rico Conventions District Authority.
Stay tuned for updates.
