We’re only a few days away from the 2018 Royal Rumble pay-per-view, and this year’s event will be historic as it’s set to feature the first ever women’s Royal Rumble match, but it’s never too early to start talking about the 2019 Rumble.
WWE has confirmed today that the 2019 Royal Rumble will take place at Chase Field in Phoenix on Jan. 27, 2019.
“We have an incredibly rich history and heritage of presenting WWE events in the Valley of the Sun,” John Saboor, WWE executive vice president of special events told AZCentral.com. “In many respects, this serves as an exciting opportunity to work with longstanding and new partners in Phoenix to create four nights of memories.”
As you can see, WWE plans to run four events in same city as they usually do for their big pay-per-views, but the other three events (NXT, Raw, SmackDown) will take place from the Talking Stick Arena.
“What’s exciting about hosting four consecutive nights … in downtown Phoenix is that the city will serve as an important point of appeal for the WWE universe,” Saboor said. “It’s another reason for our fans to descend early, stay late and spend more. It’s a very powerful synergy that’s created by the presentation of four consecutive nights.”
Saboor estimates that 40,000 fans will attend the Royal Rumble pay-per-view with 15,000 fans attending the other events on a nightly basis.
