We’re only a few days away from the annual WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view, and this year the big event is set to take place from Toronto.
WWE is wasting no time announcing the location for SummerSlam in 2020, as it was revealed today via The Boston Globe that the event will take place from the TD Garden in Boston, MA on Sunday, August 23.
SmackDown Live will also be broadcast from the Garden on Friday, August 21, followed by NXT TakeOver on Saturday, August 22 and Raw on August 24.
“This news is unprecedented in that it will serve as the first time the WWE will present four consecutive nights of events at TD Garden,” said John P. Saboor, the WWE’s executive vice president of special events.
Saboor also noted that WWE expects “50,000 fans from across the nation and throughout the world who will participate in our celebration,” and that SummerSlam will fetch “tens of millions of dollars in new economic impact in Boston.”
This year’s SummerSlam pay-per-view will air live on the WWE Network on Sunday, August 11.
