In the weeks leading up to the Royal Rumble pay-per-view it was rumored that Ronda Rousey would be returning at the event, and she not only returned but she ended up winning the women’s Royal Rumble match.
Prior to her Royal Rumble return Ronda Rousey hadn’t competed in a WWE ring since the main event of WrestleMania 35, but now the former Raw Women’s Champion has earned herself a title shot at WrestleMania 38.
Over the years there’s been a lot of talk about part-timers coming back and stealing spots from full-time Superstars, and during a recent interview with GiveMeSport current Raw star Liv Morgan shared her thoughts on the topic.
“I totally understand that, but the competitor in me is like ‘be so good that you’re undeniable.’ She’s a huge name and a great performer, she’s great at everything she does. I understand that it might take away a spot from someone else, but also part of me is like ‘well, if you were that good and the spot is yours, it’d be yours’, you know? I welcome Ronda. I love Ronda, so I’d love for her to come back and I’d love to meet her baby girl.”
Ronda Rousey got into a heated confrontation with Becky Lynch on Raw this week, and she declared that she will choose which champion she’ll be facing at WrestleMania on this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown.
