It’s been rumored for months now that WWE has been considering holding a women’s tournament similar to the CWC. Earlier this year Triple H confirmed the idea has been discussed during a media conference call, and it looks like WWE is moving forward with the idea.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that the plan is for the women’s tournament to be taped in early 2017. Like the CWC, the women’s tournament will include international competitors, and it will be featured weekly on the WWE Network.
According to the report, some women who have been contacted have been told to be ready for January, while others have been told March.
WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels has been working at the Performance Center as a coach, and he recently took the NXT/Performance Center crew to the movies.
Shawn Michaels set up a private screening of “Hacksaw Ridge” for the crew at a local movie theater in Orlando, and you can check out some photos below.
