The Latest On The TNA Sale Negotiations, WWE’s Involvement And More

Things have been crazy on the TNA sale front over the past week. It’s been reported that the company is in a tough spot, and a deal needs to be made so that Bound For Glory, and the Impact tapings next week can go off without a hitch.

The expectation was the company would be sold by now, but obviously that hasn’t happened yet. Dixie Carter is still the majority owner with 70% of the stock, but the cost for the upcoming shows is said to be around $600,000 and Dixie doesn’t have the money to cover it, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

As far as the sale talks are going, one source with knowledge of the situation said, “There are a lot of hurdles and games being played. She (Dixie Carter) has really made a mess and is responsible for all of it.”

Dixie Carter is the one who will make the final decision as to who gets the company. WWE was in the picture earlier this week, but as of this writing they are apparently back out of the picture. John Gaburick is reportedly the one who brought WWE into the fold through his relationship with Kevin Dunn.

TNA is in millions of dollars of debt, and the belief is that a deal was made with WWE, they would not assume the debt, which would end the company. If WWE comes back in the picture they would only be looking for the tape library and a few contracted talents.

Another source noted to the WON that they thought Aroluxe had the company last week, and then it seemed that Billy Corgan had it, but now it seems to be up in the air again. A deal was reportedly close to being done in 9/26, but it was not finalized. Dixie Carter is said to be out of touch on all levels, and both sides want her out. The belief is that at this point Dixie is going to make whatever deal is best for her.

Billy Corgan still wants to run the company, but it’s not known if Dixie Carter will sell to him under the terms he wants to buy it for. Corgan has made it well known that if he does purchase the company his first move will be to change the name.

One way or another it sounds like a deal will be made soon, for better or worse.
