We have previously reported Lucha Underground is now officially on Netflix, which is a good thing because it will introduce a whole new crop of fans to the product that previously couldn’t find the El Rey Network on their channel guide.
However, it isn’t all good news for the fine folks at LU. Former Lucha Underground Champion, Sexy Star announced recently that she will soon retire from wrestling entirely. Dave Meltzer noted in the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Star, shoot name Dulce Garcia, is planning on focusing on her career as a professional kickboxer.
Sexy Star is booked for The Crash Luchas show on March 25th in Tijuana but she has very slim bookings around that date. As soon as she’s fulfilled all commitments, she’s expected to make a full exit from professional wrestling.
Rey Mysterio had many hoping that he could be Lucha Underground’s biggest name on the roster. However, Rey Mysterio is saying as of right now he only plans to work for The Crash Luchas promotion in Mexico. Konnan must be a really good guy to work with because he’s making a lot of really nice deals as of late. On top of Konnan’s dealing with Impact Wrestling and Anthem Sports to bring the promotion stateside, The Crash Luchas promotion announced they will partner with Pro Wrestling NOAH in some respect as well moving forward.
