The Latest On Eric Young’s Contact Status With NXT, WWE Changes Name For GCS

Eric Young made his big NXT debut at last week’s tapings and his match with Samoa Joe aired on this week’s episode. Unfortunately for Young he wasn’t able to defeat Samoa Joe in his debut match.

Young’s debut made some waves in the world of professional wrestling and it got a lot of people talking. But according to PWInsider Eric Young still hasn’t signed an official contract with WWE.

As we’ve all seen in the past, each story is unique and each wrestler has their own situation. Former TNA talents such as Samoa Joe and Austin Aries have been able to work out deals with WWE. However James Storm didn’t sign a deal with NXT and he decided to return to TNA instead. A deal is never done until it’s done, but hopefully we’ll be seeing more of Eric Young in NXT in the future. NXT will be holding another set of tapings at Full Sail on May 19th so it should be interesting to see if Young is brought in for the tapings.

It looks like WWE has changed the name of the Global Cruiserweight Series. The company is now referring to the tournament as the Cruiserweight Classic. They changed the title of the Noam Dar vs Josh Bodom match on their YouTube channel and they also updated the description to reflect the change. The description now reads as follows:

Noam Dar, one of the U.K.’s premier technical wretlers, faces off with Josh Bodom in a WWE Cruiserweight Classic qualifying match at Revolution Pro Wrestling’s Live at the Cockpit 8 event in London.

The same description can be found on WWE’s website.
