Bayley ended Charlotte Flair’s lengthy undefeated streak at pay-per-views on Sunday night at Fastlane when she pinned the former Women’s Champion following a Bayley-to-Belly.
Many fans were shocked that both Braun Strowman and Charlotte’s streaks ended on the same night, just weeks before WrestleMania, but it seems that this wasn’t the original plan.
According to a report by PWMania, WWE had first planned for Sasha Banks to come down and interfere in the match but accidentally cost Bayley the Women’s Championship, which would then lead to dissension between the two friends heading into their triple threat match in just over three weeks time.
Instead, these plans were changed at the last minute and saw Sasha actually help Bayley to retain, which means that WWE officials are holding off on her inevitable heel turn. Monday Night Raw created a new theory about Sasha and the real reason she has been helping Bayley, which could lead to a decent pay off in a few weeks time, if her heel turn occurs following WrestleMania.
It is interesting to see that WWE wanted to keep Charlotte’s streak intact, but decided that delaying Sasha’s turn was much more important. This does send all three women into WrestleMania on an even par, so it will definitely be a WrestleMania worthy match when these three women collide in the same ring in Orlando.
