Nia Jax is without a doubt one of the most unique competitors that the WWE women’s division has seen in quite some time, but she recently took some time off. Nia Jax disappeared from WWE programming, and after she did there were various rumors and reports circulating in regards to her leave of absence.
It was rumored that Nia Jax had issues with the creative direction of her character, but Nia herself claimed that she was simply given time off because she wasn’t involved in any storylines.
“Thank you. Well actually I had live events off for the last couple of weeks because that’s just how it worked out, for cycling and stuff, so I got a little rest from TV because I wasn’t in anything storyline-wise, so I had a little rest there. But yeah, it’s been great. I love what we do, I love the storytelling, especially being such a different character and obviously a different size than everybody, we get to play on that and it’s always cool to see where we can go in the ring.”
One way or another, WWE fans noticed that she wasn’t on TV, and so did the rest of the roster.
Jax will be competing in the women’s elimination match at Survivor Series on Sunday, and it was recently announced that Natalya will be the final competitor for Team SmackDown.
After the announcement was made, Natalya told Commissioner Shane McMahon that she bleeds blue, and Jax talked some trash by saying her team does a lot of bleeding.
Lana isn’t on Team SmackDown, but she is a part of the blue brand, and she decided to use this opportunity to take a shot at Nia Jax for going AWOL.
Nia responded by telling Lana that she doesn’t have her facts straight, but as Lana noted, it looks like she hit a little too close to home.
