LA Knight Reveals His Reaction To WWE Dropping The Max Dupri Character

When LA Knight first joined the NXT brand people quickly started to take notice. Fans had high hopes for LA Knight on the main roster, but WWE decided to go in a different direction when they turned him into a manager known as Max Dupri.

Last year WWE finally dropped the Max Dupri character and since then LA Knight has become one of the most popular wrestlers in the company. While speaking to Metro about his reaction to WWE dropping Max Dupri, LA Knight expressed a lot of enthusiasm regarding the change.

“My reaction was F Yeah, immediately. Let’s make that happen. Because I don’t know who or what the hell Max Dupri is! Now, look, given the time, could I have done that? Could I have made it work? I’m sure I could have. Now, would it have ever been anything like we’re doing right now? No. Because at the end of the day, that wasn’t me. It wasn’t for me.”

Knight also joked that some administrative changes in WWE may have led to him reverting to LA Knight when he added, “You know, I don’t know all the details. But I think there were some administrative changes somewhere or other, I don’t know exactly what happened. Some things happened. People got moved around and things happen, you know?”
