We mentioned a few weeks ago that Kurt Angle was scheduled to have knee surgery in late January that may have prevented him from working Lockdown. The surgery was pushed back so that Kurt Angle could be a part of the TNA UK tour due to the fact that Jeff Hardy can’t travel overseas and Sting is no longer with the company.
TNA taped an angle in Glasgow, Scotland this past week that saw him get beat down by steel chairs as a way to write him off of TV. According to PWInsider the TNA creative team then asked him to do a run-in during a segment at the Manchester, England tapings. Angle apparently flipped out when this idea was brought up to him due to the fact that he had already been written out of the storylines and that he had been working despite his doctor telling him not to. Executive Vice President of Television Production John Gaburick was said to have been on the wrong end of Angle’s rant and Kurt did not work the tapings.
An Angle was then filmed the next day in London with EC III during Kurt’s Hall of Fame induction which setup a match between the two for Lockdown. Despite the fact that Kurt was originally supposed to miss Lockdown because of his surgery it appears that TNA wants him to keep pushing back the surgery in order for him to work the PPV.
