Kurt Angle made his return to WWE earlier this year at the Hall of Fame induction ceremony, and fans were thrilled to see him come home. On the Raw after WrestleMania, Kurt officially made his return to Monday nights when Vince McMahon appointed him the new General Manager of the red brand.
As soon as Kurt’s Hall of Fame induction was announced, fans immediately started talking about the possibility of Angle taking on the GM role, but during a recent interview with The Sun, Angle said that wasn’t something that was originally planned.
“There was never supposed to be a GM role. I don’t know if it was Mick Foley’s hip or WWE just decided they wanted to bring my on the TV. It’s been a lot of fun. I love being with the guys and girls and every week you get a closer bond with them. I’m obviously from a different generation so it’s kind of different for me to be here now. They’ve welcomed me and made me feel at home, I’m having a great time.”
Now that Kurt Angle is back on TV, everyone’s wondering when he might wrestle inside a WWE ring again. Angle noted that he doesn’t know when it’s going to happen, but he seems confident that he will return to the ring at some point.
“You’ll see me back in the ring, for sure. I don’t know when, but I can’t wait.”
